
Waste management
Under the Regulation on the method and procedure of waste management from construction and demolition from October 30th 2023, the methods and procedures for managing waste generated during the construction or demolition of buildings are prescribed.
We provide services for the development of Construction and Demolition Waste Management Plans, as well as general Waste Management Plans.
A waste producer who annually generates more than 100 tons of non-hazardous or more than 200 kilograms of hazardous waste is obligated to draw up a waste management plan in accordance with Article 26, paragraph 1, point 1) of the Law on Waste Management (“Official Gazette of RS”, no. 36/2009, 88/2010, 14/2016 and 95/2018 – other laws and 35/2023).
The generated waste must always be collected separately and sorted according to the need for future treatment, and stored in a way that does not affect human health and the environment.
The Construction and Demolition Waste Management Plan is a document that describes in detail the steps and procedures that must be implemented for the efficient management of waste generated during construction activities.
The plan includes:
- identification of the types of waste that will be generated,
- assessment of the amount of waste,
- methods for waste reduction, recycling and treatment,
- environmental and human health protection measures.
Along with the request for issuing a decision on a construction permit, a special permit for the execution of preparatory works, a temporary permit and a permit for the execution of works, a decision on consent to the Waste Management Plan is submitted.
The producer of construction and demolition waste is obligated to draw up a construction and demolition waste management plan (hereinafter referred to as: Waste Management Plan), obtain approval for the Waste Management Plan and organize its implementation, if the works are carried out on an object of category B, V and G.
Along with the request for the issuance of a permit for the removal of the facility, or part of the facility, the investor submits a decision on consent to the Waste Management Plan to the competent authority.
Along with the request for issuing a decision on a construction permit, a special permit for the execution of preparatory works, a temporary permit and a permit for the execution of works, a decision on consent to the Waste Management Plan is submitted.
The decision on consent to the Waste Management Plan is made by the competent authority within 30 days from the date of submission of complete documentation.
